Hello Susana

I was going to email you this weekend. Thank you very much for following up. We had a fantastic time. You organized such a wonderful vacation for us!

We really enjoyed the Lodge. The people were so nice, and our guide was amazing. It was just the right amount of time there for us.

We also enjoyed Cusco. The hotel was stunning (Palacio Del Inka). By the second day, we had adjusted pretty well to the altitude. The tour guides were great. If we were going to do it again, we would probably take the private tour option that you offered us. Sometimes, the group tours felt a bit rushed.

Our favourite day was the one when we went to Macchu Picchu. It was so beautiful. We had an excellent guide. And we could go at our own pace.

Antonio was great in Cusco. We loved everything that you planned for us, and hope to come back one day. The only thing I would change is I would have stayed longer. I would have liked to stay a second day at Macchu Picchu and do the hike up the mountain. And maybe had enough time to do a full day tour of the Incan rooms around Cusco.

All of the hotels were great.

Thank you again for everything you did for us!  If you have any other questions about our experience, f you l free to email me!

Best,

Kate

Dear Marita,

Jenny and I were very happy with the trip you had organised for us. We had really good times, and saw a lot of beautiful and interesting things and sites.

The pick-ups worked all well – apart from the first one in Lima, which was partly my fault too.

We had a nice first afternoon in Cusco, as the weather was fine and allowed us to take a lot of good pictures. Unfortunately, we started having problems with the altitude towards the evening, and the fact that we both felt rather sick for the rest of our stay in Cusco spoilt the pleasure of being in this interesting place considerably. Not anybody’s fault – just tough luck, I guess!

We started feeling better when we came down to the Sacred Valley though, and could enjoy the visits to the Pisac ruins and the impressive fort in  Ollantaytambo.

The train ride from there went well too, and the guide who met us in Aguas Calientes (named Victor Hugo) was very friendly, and – as it turned out the next day during our visit of Machu Picchu – very knowledgeable too. To see this fantastic place in reality was truly a great and memorable experience!

The hotels were all very nice – the one in Cusco was quite special, although the thick old walls gave the breakfast room a cellar like ambiance that made me feel rather cold. The Posada del Inca in Yucay, on the other hand, was quite a very welcoming place, and we really enjoyed our free morning there.

The tour from Yucay to the Salineras of Maras and through the beautiful highland to the Agro-Lab in Moray was another highlight, also due to our guide Luz Marina who did an excellent job. So was the visit of Chinchero and its old church. We got a nice view of the Urubamba mountain range and could even see the white cone of the Veronica  shimmering in the light of the setting sun. No troubles with the altitude there, but Jenny felt sick again when we returned to Cusco.

However, it was just one more night, and our flight the next morning was on time and went weel. Pick-up in Lima worked perfectly this time, and we had enough time to spend the afternoon at the Larco Museum as planned, Including a excellent lunch at the beautiful restaurant there!

Speaking of restaurants, we tried the Saqra near our hotel that you had recommended, and were very pleased with both, the location and the food!

So, I think that’s about all I had to report.

All in all, a marvellous trip, for which we would really like to say thank you again, Marita!

We wish you all the best and send warm regards from the now (it had been cold and raining heavily during our absence!) almost summery Lugano!

Hasta luego – maybe one day in Lugano? 😎😉

Marita,

Sorry that Dawn and I were not able to meet up with you. Jose told me that your surgery went well, and we are very glad for you.

Dawn and I had a wonderful time. We missed the rain, fortunately, except for waiting in line for the bus down from Machu Piccu to the train but it was ok. All of your plans fit together beautifully. We especially enjoyed the cultural lunch with the family at Lake Titicaca.

All our best and thanks,

Dave and Dawn

Hi Marita,

Just got back to New York a few hours ago.  Everything worked out fine on the trip except weather at Machu Picchu the second day due to heavy rain from 7-11 am.  We had an amazing time. Thank you for everything!
