Overview

The Salkantay Trek is a great alternative for the Inca Trail trek, better suited for more adventurous explorers who are able to handle higher altitudes and longer distance.

During this trek, the ascension is not as strenuous or steep as the Inca Trail, and the path passes through stunning landscapes varying from subtropical areas to stunning peaks and glaciers.

On this route, you will have the chance to explore the Humantay Lake, situated at the base of a majestic glacier covered. The views are absolutely breathtaking.

The trek ends in Machu Picchu where you will also climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain.
