{"id":595,"date":"2016-06-27T23:16:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T23:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peru-tripadvisors.com\/blog\/?p=595"},"modified":"2017-12-28T23:31:00","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T23:31:00","slug":"a-weekend-in-santiago-valparaiso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/peru-tripadvisors.com\/blog\/a-weekend-in-santiago-valparaiso\/","title":{"rendered":"A WEEKEND IN SANTIAGO &#038; VALPARAISO"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">After staying at the pretty <a href=\"http:\/\/peru-tripadvisors.com\/blog\/discovering-the-chilean-wine-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Casona Boutique Hotel<\/a> at the winecountry, we spend the weekend in Santiago, Valparaiso and the nearby Vi\u00f1a del Mar beach.<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a while since the\u00a0 last time we visited Santiago and we felt we had to go back in order to visit some hotels and meet with the local staff over there to coordinate a few datails. Of course we tried to match this business trip with a weekend so we could take a time to visit again some nearby places we loved like stroll at Santiago&#8217;s center and the inspiring streets of Valparaiso.<\/p>\n<p>We stayed at <a href=\"http:\/\/doubletree3.hilton.com\/en\/hotels\/chile\/doubletree-by-hilton-hotel-santiago-vitacura-SCLSVDT\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Double Tree Hilton Vitacura<\/a> where we were lucky to receive an upgrade by the hotel&#8217;s manager who gave us suites on the 15th floor exclusively for Hilton Honors members.<br \/>\nThe view from our rooms was impressive because you could see the mountains of the Andes and the contrast with the modern buildings of the city.<br \/>\nWe had a very pleasant stay, the staff were very attentive and helpful. The day was quite cold so we decided not to take a boat ride, plus we already had done it on our previous visit.<br \/>\nThen we went uphill, we made a brief stop at the <strong>Museum of Pablo Neruda and<\/strong> then walked downhill through the picturesque streets of the city, enjoying the charm and colorful houses. Also the bohemian atmosphere that is present in every corner.
